BlackOwl MIB Browser is an open source MIB viewer for Windows. From the MIB tab, you can view lists of available (HOST-RESOURCE-MIB, IF-MIB, RFC1155-SMI, etc.) and loaded MIBs (which you want to view).

  1. With the free MIB Browser you can read MIB (Management Information Base) files, import them and convert them into OID libraries for PRTG. Using the library files created by the MIB Viewer you can easily set up SNMP Library sensors. The free MIB Parser makes SNMP monitoring with PRTG easy and highly customizable.
  2. IReasoning MIB browser is a powerful and easy-to-use tool powered by iReasoning SNMP API. MIB browser is an indispensable tool for engineers to manage SNMP enabled network devices and applications. It allows users to load standard, proprietary MIBs, and even some mal-formed MIBs.

I used to use Getif for poking around inside SNMP results from servers and devices. However it no longer works with Windows 7 and 64-bit.

I am looking for hopefully an open source bit of software that will allow me add MIB's as required and allow me to browse the MIB tree and send a request/walk off to a server to get results.

What do you all use?

You may give a try at MIB Browser from iReasoning, the free version is only limited to the number of loaded MIBs (10 at once).

Hope this helps.

In my experience, SolarWinds has by far the best SNMP tools on Windows. I've also recently used NetTools Pro by Axence, and it seems reasonable. My windows machine is still XP though, so I can't vouch from them working on newer versions.
